The 21st century has seen substantial progress in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA), driven by advancements in science and technology. These advancements have been crucial for resolving global challenges, including innovative technologies to improve human welfare, agricultural security, biodiversity conservation, and environmental sustainability. Mathematical and natural science research is essential for developing scientific solutions that maintain a balance between natural resource conservation and human needs within sustainable development. Universitas Papua (UNIPA) envisions becoming an autonomous, esteemed, and entrepreneurial research institution by 2035, emphasizing agriculture and the conservation of natural and cultural resources. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UNIPA aims to establish itself as a center of excellence in natural and formal sciences, focusing on agriculture and Papua’s natural resource conservation. To achieve this vision, we must create a platform for scientists, academics, and practitioners to share research findings and foster collaboration, thereby advancing applicable sciences. The 1^st Papua International Conference on Biodiversity, Natural Sciences and Technology (PICoBNST), 2025, has been established as a forum bringing together researchers from various disciplines to discuss the latest developments in science and technology. This conference will serve as a venue for research on Papua’s natural resources, focusing on sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and modern technology for biodiversity conservation. The conference sought to facilitate science-based policies for sustainable natural resource management through an interdisciplinary approach. This conference aimed to establish a network among academia, government, and industry to promote research focused on scientific advancements in environmental sustainability and societal welfare. The international conference will be organized through collaboration among FMIPA UNIPA, FMIPA Universitas Cenderawasih, IPB University, and SAGE University. The outcomes will be disseminated through reputable scientific journals, amplifying participants’ academic contributions and influencing the progression of global science. This conference serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and a strategic initiative to fulfill the UNIPA and FMIPA’s vision of becoming a center of excellence in scientific research and Papua’s natural resource conservation.
